Yellowstone

My family's favorite vacation was to Yellowstone National Park. We took a tent-trailer, and with the grandparents following behind, drove from Phoenix, AZ to West Yellowstone, Mt. It took about three days to get there. We took our time and stopped along the way to see what we wanted to see, visit interesting resaurants, and camped in rv parks. We purchased a dvd player that our PS1 hooked up to. This kept the kids busy (10 and 7) when they got tired of looking out the windows. Yellowstone was gorgeous! There was so much to see and do, that a week wasn't enough time! The park itself took a long time just to drive through - we stopped to look at so many things. Yellowstone offers a Junior Ranger program that the kids loved. They had to complete certain activities along the way to earn a Junior Ranger badge. The rangers presented the badges at the visitors centers, and announced the presentation to everyone in the room. I would recommend this trip to anyone, particularly families with kids (the grandparents loved it too).
